Minas, also known as the Meos, or Mewati, are a tribe inhabiting parts of western and northern India. Early views of the Minas held that they were among the oldest inhabitants of the region. Beautiful handspun, handloomed with Khadi cotton have been produced based on these Gandhian ideologies by our traditional weavers in rural Indian villages.
Tartan (Scottish Gaelic: breacan) is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. The weft is woven in a simple twill, two over—two under the warp, advancing one thread at each pass. This forms visible diagonal lines where different colours cross, which give appearance of new colours blended from the original ones thus resulting in what is known as 'sett'.
Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours; patterns were simply different regional checked-cloth patterns, chosen by the wearer's preference. The collection depicts a mixture of Khadi and Tartan fabric. This a beautiful handloomed piece, a blend of Khadi with patch of Tartan fabric.
